What Can I Expect In A Thai Yoga Therapy Session?
A Thai Yoga Therapy session is a private, individualized one-on-one experience
designed to help you quiet your mind and look inward. Sessions blend Eastern healing techniques into a unique experience that fosters deep mental and physical relaxation, in an environment of safety and acceptance.
Clients are encouraged to wear comfortable exercise clothing, but nothing too loose that could get bunched up as you are repositioned and stretched. Please refrain from eating a heavy meal for about an hour before a session. Sessions are generally conducted on-site, but can be done at the client's location of choice for an additional fee.
A Thai Yoga Therapy session requires that you start out on your back, and then move to your
side, your stomach, sit up comfortably, and end up on your back. The different body positions allow me to do a combination of acupressure and supported stretches on your entire body - from the tips of your toes, to the top of you head. All you need to do in the session is to focus on how your body relaxes and follow my simple instructions.
The sequence of photos on this page demonstrate just a few of the stretches you will experience as I work my way from the tips of your toes, up your legs, and torso and end with your shoulders, neck and head. All stretches are done with the intention to support your unique physiology - stretches are easily adapted and even skipped as necessary.
Stretching and working energy channels on the entire body, from feet to head, generally takes
two hours. Clients who have had multiple sessions can make prior arrangements with me for either a shorter or longer session. Shorter sessions are done with the understanding that certain movements or sections of the body will be skipped. Longer sessions will allow for certain parts of the body to be worked more deeply. Payment is prorated according to the length of the session.
Please refer to Yoga Therapy Frequently Asked Questions for more clarification. While I've tried to be comprehensive in the FAQ, it is quite possible that I have missed something. Please contact me if any questions arise which are not answered here.
I schedule private sessions during the "Available for Private Yoga Therapy Sessions" slots noted on the calendar. Be aware that the calendar reflects my general availability on a weekly basis, but does not reflect sessions I have already booked. Please contact me if you would like to schedule a session.
